Dr. John D. Hudson

MD

Dr. John D. Hudson is a pioneering neurologist and sleep medicine expert with over six decades of clinical, research, and academic experience. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1963 and completed his neurology residency at the University of Iowa. Dr. Hudson is board-certified by the Texas Medical Board, American Board of Neurology, and American Board of Sleep Medicine, among others.

As the founding physician of FutureSearch Trials of Neurology, Dr. Hudson has been integral in advancing clinical research in neurology and sleep disorders. He has also founded multiple medical institutions, including Austin Neurological Clinic and Sleep Medicine Consultants, and has served as Medical Director for several sleep labs and rehabilitation centers.

With over 200 clinical trials under his belt, Dr. Hudson has made significant contributions to research in neurology, sleep disorders, and pain management. His work has been widely published in medical journals, and he has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Texas Neurological Society. He is also a sought-after speaker and consultant for pharmaceutical companies and professional organizations nationwide.

Dr. Gregory R. Tempest

MD

Dr. Gregory R. Tempest is a board-certified neurologist and sleep medicine specialist with a well-rounded career in clinical care, research, and education. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University in 2000 and completed residency and fellowship training in neurology and clinical neurophysiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Tempest has served as Medical Director for several sleep centers and as Neurology Program Director at Texas NeuroRehab Center. He is the founder of Tempest Neurology and Sleep Consultants, PLLC, and currently serves as Principal Investigator at FutureSearch Trials of Neurology. His research has focused on a range of neurological and sleep-related conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, insomnia, migraines, and fibromyalgia.

He remains active in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Neurology and the Texas Medical Association and has contributed to medical education through lectures and mentorship of medical students and residents.

Dr. Bhavim Desai

MD

Dr. Bhavim Desai is a board-certified physician in both Family Medicine and Sleep Medicine, with broad clinical and research expertise across multiple therapeutic areas. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Carolina and completed his residency in Family Medicine at St. Mary Mercy Hospital, followed by fellowship training in Sleep Medicine at Banner University Medical Center.

Dr. Desai has served in clinical roles including Physician at Sleep Medicine Consultants in Austin, TX, and Sub-Investigator at FutureSearch Trials of Neurology. He has contributed to Phase I–IV clinical trials for conditions such as migraines, narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, chronic pain, and cancer.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Desai has co-authored peer-reviewed publications and participated in investigator-initiated research, particularly in the areas of oncology and circadian rhythm disorders. His experience reflects a strong commitment to advancing sleep medicine and improving patient outcomes through evidence-based research and care.

Mary E. Youngwith

RN, APRN-CNP

Mary E. Youngwith is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in neurology, sleep medicine, and clinical trials. Practicing since 2005, she works in neurology and sleep medicine under Dr. John Hudson in Austin, TX, and serves as a Sub-Investigator at FutureSearch Trials of Neurology. Ms. Youngwith holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Psychology from Valparaiso University. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, where she has been a member since 2004.

Her clinical trial experience includes research in insomnia, fibromyalgia, pain management, Parkinson’s disease, restless legs syndrome, and other sleep disorders. Ms. Youngwith has also completed specialized training in Good Clinical Practices, NIH certifications, and diagnostic and assessment tools. Her expertise is integral to advancing patient care and research, making her a key contributor to clinical trial success.
