What is Insomnia?

Insomnia is a common sleep disorder that makes it difficult to fall asleep, stay asleep, or get restful sleep, even when you have the opportunity to do so. It can lead to daytime fatigue, difficulty concentrating, mood disturbances, and decreased performance at work or school. Insomnia may be short-term (acute) or long-term (chronic), and it can be caused by stress, medical conditions, lifestyle habits, or other underlying issues. Proper treatment depends on identifying and addressing the root cause.
