At FutureSearch Trials, we are committed to research in this area. We hope to play an important role in the progress of treatments for this addiction. We participate in clinical trials that work to understand the biological and functional changes experienced after one year of smoking cessation. In these studies, we are looking for participants who smoke and are interested in quitting. Eligible participants for these research studies may be reimbursed for their time and travel. Those who qualify must be at least 18 years of age and able to provide written, informed consent.

Smoking Cessation

Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Figures show that smoking related illnesses claim between 400,000 and 450,000 lives each year in the U.S. We know that cigarette smoke contains thousands of chemicals, many of them known to cause cancer. Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body and is the main cause of lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, coronary heart rises, stroke and many other cancers and diseases.
